... people to stay as it is a very popular place! Due to its proximity to the National Park however visitors have to be careful of the many species of wildlife that can come in to the town as residents know they have to share their space with the animals. They are only one of two townships in the whole of Canada that are incorporated in to a national park, so while residents welcome those four million people every year, they do ask that people leave the park exactly how they found it so as to preserve it for others.

One of the most popular attractions in Banff and a place that is represented in many pictures in this collection, is the Cave and Basin, which is where Banff National Park first began. Visitors can see the open-air mineral pool and the underground hot springs, as well as see the history of the park and where it all started.

Banff has something for everyone, including a slice of history as it was Canada's first national park and only the third in the whole world. The scenery is breathtaking, the wildlife are free and roaming everywhere and the town gives people a chance to really get away from it all and surround themselves with beautiful mountains, lakes, rivers and glaciers. It truly is a piece of Canadian history and is well worth a visit any time of the year.
